This one of a kind knife was hand forged at the Rusty Monkey Forge from recycled, reclaimed  or reused materials.

The blade is made from a salvaged piece of 1075 high carbon knife steel, hand forged, heat treated, ground and polished.  The Rusty Monkey logo was electro-chemically etched onto the blade and each blade made by Rusty Monkey Forge has its own unique story and is crafted by hand, no two blades are identical!  The blade is a four inch Hunter style knife.

The handle is truly unique!  It is hand shaped from oak, BUT NOT JUST ANY OAK!  It is Eleanor's Oak - this Oak was planted at the American Embassy in Canberra on the 4th of September 1943 by then first Lady Eleanor Roosevelt during her WWII Red Cross Tour of the Pacific.

71 years later, the tree was felled by strong winds and was donated to the Canberra Woodcraft Guild but the stumps were discarded and salvaged by Rusty Monkey Forge.... a piece of this historic tree now forms part of this very special knife.  In addition, an off cut of beef wood and a salvaged piece of brass have been incorporated with ultra-thin micarta to help transform this knife handle into a truly stunning piece.
